Background and Experience
After an adult life lead owning and managing small businesses ranging from forestry services to early childhood education centres I had the opportunity to pursue tertiary education in my mid 40’s. I spent just under seven years studying at Auckland University of Technology completing my education with a 1500 hour internship at Community Alcohol and Drug, Kingsland, Auckland in 2012 when in my early 50’s. At present I contract to the Northland District Health Board for one day a week working with the Community Mental Health Team based in Dargaville. The rest of my working week is spent supporting the survivors of sexual abuse, funded by the Accident Compensation Corporation as well as Employee assistance organisations and private clients.
