Couple and Family Therapy, Cultural Adjustment, Grief and Loss, Resilience, Anxiety and Depression.
I am a counsellor of 9 years experience. I have worked with clients from young children to older adults, both male and female, of varying sexual orientation, religious beliefs, social background and ethnicity.I believe that my own ability to live with deep involvement in my own Chinese culture and in my adopted culture of New Zealand supports my ability to work with clients who have different areas of comfort and need.
I also have extensive experience in facilitating groups, including parents groups and couple groups.
I have a particular interest in working with couples and families who wish to rebuild their relationship and with people who have experienced family violence.
I work from a client-centred approach with evidence-based interventions drawn from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) or Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-focused Therapy, Family Therapy, Imago Couple Therapy and so on to adapt to each client’s individual needs.
