Areas of Special Interest
I am hugely fascinated by attachment theory and how it explains the influence on the nature of all our relationships-past and present. I also had first-hand experience with Equine assisted therapy and would love to further explore this with others.
It is my privilege to assist you in exploring your strengths and how you can use these to master your current life's challenges in a safe and non-judgmental space.
When unexpected or unwanted changes happen in our life, we often feel lost or out of control. In Counselling you can discuss any presenting issues without being worried to burden your friends or family members. Here is a list of challenges often presented in Counselling:
- loss and grief
- finding direction
- taking control
- managing stress
- couple counselling
- life through and after divorce
- parenting challenges
- fostering/adoption issues
I believe in an holistic approach that includes our emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. I work person-centred and use techniques from Narrative Therapy, but mostly I like to explore our therapeutic relationship in the "HERE and NOW" using the interpersonal process in therapy. I like to view us as fellow travellers who take this journey of exploration together. I also offer working in the Sand tray as part of creative therapy.
The highlights of my work as a counsellor are found in those moments being with my clients, the moment their hearts are open and their eyes can see and they begin to understand the lessons that life itself has taught them - and I am privileged to be a part of these moments.
