Alcohol and drug/substance use

Alcohol and other substance use can be a part of our normal every day life without causing any harm. Sometimes, however, this can escalate into harmful drinking, or drug taking that is becoming more problematic. Getting a handle on how substance use may be impacting on your everyday life could be the first step to improving communication and relationships, reduce home and workplace anxiety or stress, and increasing self confidence, mood and overall wellbeing. Contact me if you are worried about any harmful effects of alcohol and drug use for yourself, family or friends.

Family and Youth

Are you worried about your kids or another family member and the way they drink, or that they take drugs, or you can see they are struggling with mental health challenges such as depression, anxiety or other stresses and you don’t know what to do about it? Are you concerned that you or a family member may need some extra support or advice about these issues?

I provide support for both young people and family members who are affected by substance use, mental health concerns, and associated problems. Contact me if you are worried about how this may be affecting your young person or family member.

Corporate and Workplace

Is sleeplessness, persistent low mood, apathy or increased irritability with colleagues, friends and family starting to cause you some concern at work? Is alcohol or drug use becoming a predominant stress relief, or perhaps used to continue managing work pressures? Are you finding that you are becoming physically unwell more often? If so you may be experiencing some signs of stress or fatigue.

Our private consultation and counselling services are discreet, practical, and tailored to your individual needs. Contact me if you are worried about the effects these challenges may be having on your personal or professional life.

Gambling

Are you worried about yourself, a friend, or family member who might be spending a bit too much time or money at the pokies or casino?

Gambling can be fun and social for most, but some people find it difficult to stop and it can become a problem for them. Contact me if you are worried about a potential harmful gambling problem.

Each individual has their own journey and can experience challenges in a different way to the next person. I move at your pace with your goals, and within a culturally appropriate context. I provide a friendly and professional safe space for non-judgemental support, respect and understanding to all people, regardless of age, developmental stage, race, gender, sexual orientation, addiction severity, or recovery stage. Together we can take a look at what might work best for you.
