ACC Group Therapy

Registered Therapist Needed for ACC SCS Retreats

I’m seeking a registered ACC therapist who is interested in expanding their group work practice in 2026. This role involves providing therapeutic support for my program, Calming an Anxious Mind, which is delivered in Auckland as two-day weekend retreats. A total of eight retreats will run across the year.

I have been running this program for the past 18 months, and it has been consistently full and well-received, showing both its impact and its importance for participants.

About the Program

Calming an Anxious Mind is a trauma-sensitive retreat designed specifically for ACC clients living with ongoing PTSD, CPTSD, and symptoms of anxiety. The program combines movement, arts therapy, and nervous system education to provide participants with practical, evidence-based resources that they can carry into their everyday lives.

Throughout the retreat, participants are supported to:

  • Develop self-soothing and compassionate practices
  • Reduce self-judgement and barriers to self-care
  • Safely reconnect with their bodies and bodily sensations
  • Manage hyper- and hypo-arousal states with practical tools
  • Strengthen resilience and embodied mindfulness skills

The retreat environment offers both safety and connection, helping participants restore body-mind balance, expand their self-agency, and reduce feelings of isolation.

Why This Matters for ACC Clients

Many ACC clients struggle with the ongoing effects of trauma, anxiety, and dysregulation of the nervous system. These retreats provide a space where they can learn, practice, and integrate sustainable strategies for calming and resilience. By joining me in this work, you’ll help ensure that participants are therapeutically supported throughout the process, with resources that naturally complement and strengthen the one-to-one therapeutic work they are already engaged in.
