Counselling Services

I am a compassionate, non-judgemental person who is motivated in helping people find solutions to their challenges and achieve their goals. I know that reaching out can be difficult and takes a lot of courage. As a qualified counsellor I aim to provide a safe, non-judgemental and supportive environment where you can begin to explore those life challenges. You may be feeling lost and overwhelmed and that life is just passing you by. You may be stuck in a crisis and unable to move on.

Counselling Approach

My counselling approach is eclectic, as I am guided by your needs and who you are. Fundamentally I take a person-centered approach. Complimentary to this, I draw on a variety of approaches that include Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt therapy and incorporate Attachment Theory and the latest from neuroscience. In addition, when working with couples I include Imago therapy and The Developmental Model.

Background and Experience

I am a counsellor because there is nothing more rewarding than seeing someone discover their potential and freedom to become who they want to be.

I am a fully qualified counsellor and a registered provisional member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors. Prior to face to face counselling I worked for 5 years as a volunteer crisis phone counsellor for Lifeline Aotearoa.

I am married and have two adult sons.
