I have experience with a broad range of issues and people. I offer a safe, compassionate and non-judgemental space to express yourself. Together we can explore the issues and start to make sense of it all. There is usually some relief from finally being heard and understood and then we can work together to find the way forward. Together we can start to notice the subtle messaging picked up from others and from life events and how these have impacted upon you. This self awareness can lead to discovering creative solutions to the situations you face. You might also rediscover what’s really important to you and find purpose and meaning that changes your take on life. All this can promote a better sense of yourself and how you want to do life, less anxiety, increased wellbeing and genuine relationships with others.
I am trained in Narrative therapy, DBT, and person-centred approaches. I value taking a holistic view of people which incorporates the wisdom of our mind, body and spirit and our need for relationship. I hold Christian values but am also deeply respectful of differing viewpoints. I look forward to rich conversations with my clients!
I work from my own practice in Mt Eden and also at VisionWest Community Trust counselling practice in Glen Eden.
I have worked successfully with a broad range of clients and issues including anxiety, depression, grief, self esteem, trauma, relational issues and spiritual and life transitions.
I am a Christian who is deeply respectful of all faith/non-faith positions. As someone who has seen a fair bit of life and changed career and life perspective along the way, I carry a depth of personal experience and am frequently recognised as having personal and professional integrity.
