I am a registered Child Psychotherapist with over 25+ yrs experience. Those years have seen me work in various settings across the child mental health sector, such as, in-patient, out-patient, child trauma and eating disorders. I have also taught on the training programme at AUT.
For the past 15 years however, my work has focused on infant mental health and strengthening the relationship between caregivers and their infant/child. I use the Circle of Security model a lot in my work, because I believe (and know), that the coupling of psychoeducation and reflection, fosters parental capacity. It has been a sense of pride to have published some New Zealand data on the model, in the Journal of Attachment and Human Development in 2020.
At times all parents feel lost or without a clue about what our child might need from us. Imagine what it might feel like if you were able to make sense of what your child was really asking from you.
I can help you:
