I offer a collaborative approach and strengths-based approach, helping you navigate challenging times and create a more balanced and meaningful way of living.

Areas of Special Interest

  • Mental health concerns such as anxiety, worry, depression and addiction
  • Everyday challenges such as relationship difficulties, stress, managing emotions and building self-esteem.
  • Supervision for psychologists and addiction practitioners.

Counselling/Therapy Services

Psychological therapy can help you to develop the insight and skill you may need to work through painful or challenging experiences; ultimately to find ways to live a life with greater flexibility, resilience and purpose.

I offer warm and practical support to help you better understand your emotions, thoughts and behaviour, to discover and enhance your strengths, and to learn new skills and strategies to move beyond the difficulties you face.

While confronting our struggles and challenges can be uncomfortable, these times are also a valuable opportunity to learn more about ourselves, giving us the freedom to make the changes we wish to see in our lives and enhance our overall sense of wellbeing.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

I am trained in a variety of evidence-based therapeutic frameworks, including Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectic Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). I work with you to adapt different therapeutic tools and techniques to best suit your needs, depending on your personality, preferences and the concerns you would like to address.

Background and Experience

I have experience working with adults with a range of mental health difficulties including anxiety disorders (panic, OCD, phobias and generalised anxiety), depression, trauma-related difficulties (PTSD) and substance use concerns (alcohol and other drugs, including misuse of prescription medications). I also have experience working with everyday life problems, such as worry, relationship difficulties, stress management, managing emotions, developing identity and improving self-esteem.

I provide strength-based supervision for psychologists and addictions practitioners. My aim in supervision is to help you reflect on your practice in a way that builds confidence and enhances your skill and knowledge in working with clients. I have six years experience working in the addictions sector as a psychologist and am familiar and able to support clinicians with DAPAANZ registration requirements.
