Counselling Services

I am a qualified experienced counsellor, working with adults, teenagers and couples on issues including relationships, life satisfaction, work issues, depression, anxiety and grief. People tell me that I am a kind warm-hearted person who brings openness and respect to the people I work with.

I use a person centred approach which helps people to explore life issues in a safe and caring space. This lets many discover new possibilities that feel right for them. I also use Emotionally Focused Therapy to help couples rekindle love.

I’ve worked in telecommunications, management, IT, government and human resources. I live with my husband in Tawa and we keep bees.

Counselling Approach

Trained in a variety of mainstream counselling approaches including Client Centered Therapy (Rogers), Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT), Narrative, Te Weke, Gestalt and Art Therapy, I will work ‘existentially’ with you. This places your values, beliefs, constraints and strengths at the centre of our work while I draw on one or more of these approaches to support you in uncovering solutions for your issues.

I use a number of ways of checking to ensure sessions are meeting your needs.

Background and Experience

I work to the NZAC Code of Ethics & support the Treaty of Waitangi. I have been working as a counsellor, career counsellor and trauma responder since 2008. I see private clients and provide EAP services for two nationwide NZ EAP Providers.

Run the Wellington peer supervision group for Emotionally Focused Couples and Individual Therapists. Have been running this group for several years.
