Counselling/Therapy Services

I offer short and long term therapy to individuals and couples. It’s a privilege to help people get through some of the most difficult times in their lives and I bring a compassionate and empathetic approach to everyone I work with.

People arrive with different issues in life but with the right therapeutic approach, effective listening and supportive communication, it’s always possible to help them overcome their difficulties and find a healthy way forward.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

Choosing the most effective therapeutic approach for the presenting issue is important. This is why I use evidence based methods such as Mindfulness based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Exposure/Response Prevention for OCD (ERP is a form of CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Emotionally Focussed Therapy (EFT), and Internal Family Systems (IFS).

Background and Experience

I’ve had over twenty years experience in the counselling and psychotherapy professions. My initial counselling training began in 1995 at Youthline before I went on to do my Masters degree in Psychotherapy (Hons) at AUT. Following that I worked at Waitemata DHB, Auckland DHB and began a private practice at the Mensana Clinic. For the last 12 years I have worked full-time in private practice in Ponsonby.
