I’m Brendan Vorster, a registered psychologist working with adults and couples, in person on the Hibiscus Coast and the North Shore or online across New Zealand.
People usually come to me at one of two moments. Something has become too heavy to carry well: anxiety that has moved in, stress that has turned into burnout, a relationship that keeps hitting the same wall, a loss or a change that has left them unsure who they are now. Or something is calling them forward: a bigger role, a decision with real weight, a sense that the way they have been living no longer fits. Counselling helps with the first. Coaching helps with the second. Most of my work is some of both.
We start with a free 15 minute conversation by phone or video to work out whether I’m the right fit. A first session of about 80 minutes takes a proper history and uses short validated questionnaires so we know where things stand. We then contract for six sessions and review at the sixth with the same measures, so you can see whether it is working.
My approach is evidence-based and practical. I’m registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society. Sessions are in English or Afrikaans. People of faith are welcome, and Christian clients are free to bring their faith into the work; it is never assumed or imposed.
Psychology sessions are $230 including GST, with a few reduced-fee places for people where cost is the barrier. Leadership coaching is priced separately. Weekdays 8am to 5pm. Rooms on the Hibiscus Coast and in Albany on the North Shore.
No. Many of my clients aren't. Your beliefs are respected either way, and faith only comes into the work if you want it to.

Book a free 15 minute conversation by phone or video. If I'm not the right fit, I'll say so and help you find who is.
