I provide coaching with a therapeutic approach for adults at any stage of navigating life with ADHD. You may have been aware of your ADHD for a long time, been recently diagnosed, or suspect you might have ADHD.
ADHD can be highly treatable. The way ADHD creates obstacles will be different for every adult, but what’s common is a sense that we’re not doing as well as we’d like. I’m continually impressed by how quickly function can be improved with good information, deep understanding, compassion, and great strategies and tools designed to be the right fit for you.

“We are bound to be more successful when we live and work in harmony with our true nature and talents.” – Brett
There are times when it can be helpful to supplement ‘the talking cure’ with visual expression. While I’ve found this to be especially true for younger children, this method suits adults as well. Arts therapy allows people to process emotions and feelings, without the demands of articulating in words what can be deeply felt, complex, and confusing.
Arts Therapy services are suitable for:
- Professional Member of the Australian, New Zealand and Asian Arts Therapy Association (ANZACATA)
- Masters in Create Arts Therapy (Clinical)
- Certified ADHD Coach (ADD Coach Academy, New York)
Hi, I’m Brett. My passion is working with people who are ready to improve their ADHD-related outcomes, be it in school, university, employment, business, relationships, or family. I’ve had the privilege of seeing ADHD coaching, counselling and therapy work well for hundreds of people, and to witness them flourish. A person who is determined to meet their potential with the support of a trained, experienced professional like me can make amazing things happen!
Years ago, when my adult ADHD was first identified, I could find nothing that clearly pointed the way to the solutions that would make a difference in my daily life. What was most helpful is simple: talking to someone who truly ‘got’ ADHD, had insight into the way ADHD was affecting me personally, and who could be a partner in the process of discovering the solutions and strategies to overcome ADHD.
Today, after many years of training, and experience living and working with ADHD (my own and my clients'), I can be that person for you. I’ve made finding happiness and success, despite ADHD, my life’s work, and I would love to share what I’ve learned with you!
- How long we might work together depends entirely on what will work best for you although I recommend at least 3 fortnightly sessions.
- You may get what you need in the short term, in 4-6 sessions and return months or years later for a top-up.
- You might continue to work with me long term, on a monthly basis as a maintenance dose.
I'm warm, friendly and gregarious. I can be quite to the point at times and I also like to laugh and find the humour in things. I make a lot of use of my tablet to draw colourful diagrams and doodles to illustrate points and ideas and you get a copy of any notes we create together.
“Brett was an amazing support both for my son, and our family. From Year Eight through to Year 11, she gained my son’s trust, so he felt listened to and supported… Outside of our family she was his biggest champion and advocate – and I can’t thank her enough… Brett helped my son better understand what life was throwing at him and made the family that little bit more resilient.” -- Sandy, NZ
"Working with Brett was very helpful. Her advice and strategies have been able to assist me in developing a routine (something I've never had) and to rediscover the enjoyment I get from my work. Brett is supportive and encouraging but most importantly, I found it invaluable to be able to discuss the issues with someone who really understands."
-- Nathan, Auckland, NZ
"Before I started working with Brett I was in denial about how much my ADHD was affecting me … I was trying to ignore my ADHD and denying it to myself. That was not working. Brett has helped me to start to accept my ADHD and I am learning to use it instead of getting frustrated trying to avoid it. Thank you for your help Brett!" -- Arabella, Uni Student, Auckland, NZ
- I offer online sessions for your convenience, or you can see me in-person, depending on the day of the week, in Auckland or in Waipu.
