If things are not going well for you, you don’t have to suffer in silence. Whenever you are ready to talk, we can start to work together.
I provide a warm, safe and confidential space for you to share and express your feelings, thoughts, and difficulties in your life. I support you with care, respect and dignity, so that you will feel that you are well held while we look at and explore the ways to move forward.
Often life throws various realities at us. In the process of counselling we will look at what you are facing in your life, not only as the issues and the problems, but also as something that carries a wealth of information about what is going on at a deeper inner level, as well as what potential we have. One of our main purposes in the counselling room is this discovery and its integration, which help you to have a fuller view of yourself. With this process, I will support you to develop a new set of skills to enhance your awareness of choice and direction in your life.
I work from a psychosynthesis perspective. This is a psychospiritual framework which holds both Western analytic ‘depth’ psychology and Eastern meditative ‘height’ psychology. Psychosynthesis also holds a whole range of methods and applies those appropriately to the person rather than the person to the pre-set techniques. In this way I listen to your individual story and support you in your own journeys.
I am originally from Japan, married to a kiwi man and came to NZ in 1995.
I have a background in special education and have been working as a Teacher Aide at a Special School for many years. Through this experience, I have learned to understand the individuals deeply and use creative thinking with the people I work with.
