Counselling Services

I understand my work as a counsellor as helping clients develop self-awareness, self-knowledge and self-understanding, allowing to grow in ways that reflect their individuality and feel confident in their capacity to lead a fulfilling and meaningful life.

I offer a supportive and collaborative environment where my clients can become more aware of their body responses, feelings, thoughts, and the internal logic that shapes their worldview, choices and actions without fear of being judged.

As self-awareness grows, my clients are better able to pause and review their choices, to develop new perspectives and to act rather than react.

From this “inner space”, they increase their capacity to manage situations more calmly and effectively, to implement better strategies, to make decisions that are in line with their needs, desires and values, and to increase trust in their judgement and capability. As relationships and daily life become more fulfilling, a deep sense of purpose, direction and confidence grows for them.

I provide individual counselling in English and French to adults and adolescents. Sessions are available in person in Remuera (close to Newmarket) or on Skype.

Counselling Approach

Psychosynthesis takes an evolving approach to psychology. It offers a holistic model for personal development inclusive of new research and findings, and draws from a wide range of techniques. This means that I have a wide range of tools and strategies at my disposal and the ability to tailor my approach to suit the needs of each client individually. Your needs in counselling are the lead rather than the method I use so you can feel truly heard and supported.

I have also studied Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. MBCBT promotes a more goal-oriented, structured and time-bound approach. This has enabled me to strengthen my skills in providing effective, fast-acting relief, and identifying practical and manageable solutions with my clients.

About Me

I have worked in private practice since 2009, seeing adolescents and adults of both genders on one-on-one basis. I have experience both in brief, goal-oriented counselling (4-16 sessions) and long-term work, depending on the issues presented and the depth of work my clients want.

Prior to being a counsellor, I worked in the hospitality and travel industry for 17 years in a variety of roles and structures, giving me an understanding of the challenges of a range of workplaces and managing a balance between work and personal life.
I grew up in France and lived in Ireland and Germany before settling in NZ in 2001. I have insight on the issues faced by migrants both in their new country and their home land, and living across cultures.
