Counselling Services

A counselling session is a unique opportunity to process life’s challenges when experiencing a change or encountering a problem. It could be an issue that has been there for a long time or a more recent concern.

I invite you to come along to counselling.

Throughout our conversations you may gain:

  • awareness of old negative patterns of thought and behavior
  • sensing into unresolved grief and traumas
  • understanding of yourself or a relationship better
  • identifying some options that will diminish the problem
  • strategies to adjust to a new situation
  • see new possibilities that provide some hope
  • an appreciation for who you are and what you value.

Counselling Approach

I provide short, medium or long-term therapy. I am primarily offer Collaborative Narrative Therapy however I draw on a range of modalities including Creative Art and Drawing Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotional Focused Therapy or any other medium that is helpful. Often it involves a combination depending on what suits you and the situation.

I am mindful that each person, couple or family is unique and we all experience life differently. I want you to feel safe and comfortable in counselling while we talk about what is important to you. Having someone to share concerns can make a difference. I believe people are often more capable that they think.

Background and Experience

From my experience being a Midwife and a Nurse I am respectful and compassionate toward the needs of others. I have worked alongside many people from all walks of life and from many different cultures and ethnicities, appreciating the diversity this brings.

I enjoy working with people and whatever issues or problem they may be experiencing. I work with children, adolescence, adults, parents, couples and families depending on the needs of the person or people I meet.

Supervision Services

I offer clinical supervision to counsellors and other health care professionals. It is important to me as a Supervisor to offer a nourishing and supportive experience so that you can continue to work safely, ethically and look after yourself.

Supervision is:

  • a supportive forum for you to reflect upon, expand and extend your practice
  • a place of exploring, learning, discovering new ideas and ways of thinking
  • explorations of how different presentations impact on you and how this shapes your focus
  • a safe environment to contemplate ethical dilemmas
