Dael Sloley

Counselling for Children

I offer a range of specialised approaches designed with children’s unique needs in mind. My methods are gentle, engaging, and focus on creating a safe space for growth and healing.

My aim is to help your child build emotional security and resilience so they can grow into grounded, confident teenagers and adults.

I have extensive experience supporting tamariki through challenges such as:

  • grief and loss
  • phobias
  • anxiety
  • behavioural management
  • relationship difficulties
  • significant life transitions

I am also passionate about working with neurodiverse clients, tailoring sessions to their unique strengths and ways of processing the world.

My journey began with a passion for working alongside tamariki, having previously trained and worked as a teacher aide, and am a mother. I believe in fostering mental well-being from a young age, equipping children with essential life skills that will support them throughout their growth. This is more than just a job; it’s a commitment to nurturing resilient, happy, and confident tamariki.

When seeking support for your child, trust and professionalism are paramount. I hold a Bachelor’s in Applied Counselling and am a registered member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors (NZAC). This means I adhere strictly to their ethical framework, ensuring a safe, confidential, and professional environment for your child and whānau. My practice is also grounded in culturally appropriate approaches, respecting and valuing diverse backgrounds.
