Counselling Services

She believes that clients are the experts on their own lives and are able to determine the direction and pace of therapy. Her approach is respectful and non-blaming.

With you, Diane will explore your story and work to find new possibilities. She sees her role as supporting people to identify their strengths, clarify beliefs and values and develop ways to overcome what is troubling them.

 

Counselling Approach

Diane has a Masters degree in Counselling, and additional training in a range of evidence based models. She will work with you using the approach that you are most comfortable with.

Counselling methods she is experienced with include:

  • Person Centered
  • Narrative Therapy
  • Jungian
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
  • Emotion Focussed therapy (EFT)
  • Somatic therapy where needed

 

About Diane

Diane has lived and worked in New Plymouth for most of her adult life. She has direct experience of the value of counselling and understands the need for a listening ear.

She is currently a trainee with the Australia New Zealand Society of Jungian Analysts.

Q Appointments

In-person and online sessions are by appointment only. Contact me to discuss what you are looking for and to arrange an appointment.

Online Appointments / Tele-health:
Diane has experience and training in tele-health. You will be sent a link to a confidential platform so that connecting for the session is easy and private.

Q Disability Access

The office space is wheelchair accessible via a lift and the building has accessible facilities.

Q Help with fees

If you are a student, on a benefit or a low income you may be eligible for a Work and Income (WINZ) allowance that provides a subsidy. You will need a doctor's recommendation. Diane can provide you with the forms.
