Positive Psychology & Psychotherapy

About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist who is passionate about supporting people to deepen their understanding of themselves, work through the things that are holding them back, and create more meaningful and fulfilling lives. I love working in this field and look forward to sharing my knowledge, skills, and presence with you.

How I Can Help

People come to therapy for all sorts of reasons. Sometimes there is a particular problem that has become difficult to manage, while at other times there may simply be a sense that something isn’t quite right or that life could be different.

I can help you work through many different issues, including:

  • depression
  • grief
  • nightmares
  • relationship difficulties
  • low self-esteem
  • major life changes

I also specialise in:

My Approach To Therapy

My approach to therapy is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth. I take the time to understand what you would like to get out of therapy, and tailor my approach accordingly. I am trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities, which allows me to draw from different ways of working depending on what is most helpful for you. For some people, this involves practical strategies for managing a particular difficulty. For others, it may involve looking more deeply at longstanding patterns, relationships, emotions, or experiences from the past. In our sessions, we can find a balance that feels most helpful for you.

My Practice

I own and operate Positive Psychology & Psychotherapy, a Christchurch-based mental health clinic, alongside my wife, who is a Child and Family Psychologist. Our practice is designed to feel comfortable and welcoming, rather than overly clinical. I work with teens, adults, and couples, and for those who enjoy having animals around, I can also provide animal-assisted therapy with my lovely companions, Bailey (Labradoodle), Ellie (Golden Retriever), and Milo (Ragdoll).
