I am a registered psychologist, registered addictions practitioner, and trained clinical supervisor. I hold extensive practice experience in a broad spectrum of mental health and addiction services through previous and current roles in primary mental health, child and youth, psychological trauma, employment assistance, alcohol & drug addiction, college/ university counselling, clinical training/ education and clinical supervision.
In my practice, there is an emphasis towards prevention, development and social context. I aim to enhance these through my practice values, which include compassionate care, respect for individual growth, and psychological flexibility. Generally, my clients range in age from 5 and up.
PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLING PRACTICE
My practice orientation is embedded within a pluralistic and integrative framework, where I utilise various modalities (psychodynamic, existential, humanistic, attachment-focused, cognitive-behavioural, family systems, mindfulness-based, cross-cultural, and play-based approaches) that suit the client context. Conceptualisation, assessment and treatment planning are involved to enhance progressive client case management.
PSYCHOLOGICAL SCREENING AND ASSESSMENT
Psychological screening, assessments (including referral to specialists) are available for developmental conditions (FASD, Autism and ADHD), general mental health, psychological trauma, alcohol & other drugs, and personality patterns. Assessments can be therapeutic when they accurately capture the real essence of the client’s challenges and issues, leading to more effective service implementation.
CLINICAL SUPERVISION PRACTICE
My Clinical supervision practice is embedded within the integrative relational frameworks, combining competency-based and developmental approaches to supervision. There is an explicit review, assessment and reflection on ethical maturity, profession-based competencies, cultural safety, power dynamics, clinical practice, client outcomes, well-being, and professional development.
Service Limitations
I am unable to provide psychological and counselling services to clients within the following conditions: schizophrenia spectrum, complex eating issues, and neurological or brain injuries, substance-induced psychosis, treatment-resistant mood issues and those with disengaged or hostile/aggressive behaviours.
