I am a trauma-informed, humanistic and person-centred art therapist who works alongside individuals and whānau to support healing, growth, and reconnection. My practice is grounded in unconditional positive regard, empathic attunement, and authenticity. I create a therapeutic space where clients feel emotionally, culturally, spiritually, and physically safe, and where they are supported to move at their own pace.
I honour each person’s agency, dignity, and inner wisdom. My work supports identity exploration, life transitions, trauma recovery, and meaning-making through creative process. I am neurodivergent affirming and have many years experience with this community. Art therapy offers a way to express experiences that may feel difficult to put into words, using symbol, metaphor, image, and sensory materials such as clay, textiles, collage, and visual journaling. I work gently and collaboratively, with awareness of nervous system responses and the importance of choice, containment, and regulation.
My approach is informed by Te Ao Māori and guided by Te Whare Tapa Whā, recognising wellbeing as the integration of wairua, hinengaro, tinana, and whānau. I acknowledge the importance of whakapapa, mauri, and the spiritual dimensions of wellbeing, and I incorporate culturally responsive practices with humility, reflection, and consent.
At the heart of my work is relationship over intervention and presence over technique. I value process over product, holding space for symbolism, silence, connection, and the restoration of balance. I walk alongside clients as they navigate change, trauma, and personal transformation
