Counselling Services

Counselling can be a way to explore and inquire deeper into one’s present life issues in order to bring new understanding and awareness that can lead to a more open, loving and satisfying way of being in the world.

I offer a safe, confidential and supportive space, where clients can feel at ease sharing what is going on for them without fear of judgement. My approach is holistic and collaborative – taking into account the multiple dimensions of a person’s life that lead to that person feeling well, and treating my clients as the experts on their lives that they are.

I am passionate about helping people begin the journey of loving themselves and rediscovering meaning in their lives. All feelings and expressions are welcome in my counselling room.

I work with individuals of all cultures, religions, genders and sexual orientations. I am passionate about social justice and decolonisation, and am committed to ongoing training in order to keep up to date.

Counselling Approach

I draw on a range of approaches and techniques depending on the nature of the presenting issues and the needs of the client. With a client-centred basis, I draw upon mindfulness, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Solution-focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

Background and Experience

I began my counselling journey in 2007 when I volunteered for Youthline in Christchurch. After realising I had a passion and natural ability, I then moved to Wellington and completed a counselling diploma. Since then, my counselling experience has mostly been with women and young adults, with roles at the Wellington Women’s Health Collective, Evolve Youth, Wellington Women’s Refuge, and Victoria University. My group facilitating experience includes a women’s depression group, anxiety management groups at university, and most recently mindfulness workshops.
