In counselling you are listened to and helped to explore the difficulties or concerns that you have, and you are encouraged to make changes orientated towards healing and wholeness. My counselling services are to help people’s life challenges holistically, and bring hope and resilience through the collaborative therapeutic relationship. People say that I am a comfortable person to talk with and a good listener with empathy, and they experience me as gentle and caring.
My approach to counselling is Person-Centred and Narrative Therapy based. On top of that, I also integrate several other approaches of practice including: Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Art Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Interactive Drawing Therapy (IDT), Neuroscience, Mindfulness, Sand Tray, Small Figures, Solution Focused Therapy, and Visualisation according to clients’ needs.
I have experience in counselling individuals and groups of young students, and adults dealing with issues around life’s challenges such as anger, bullying, depression, family difficulties, grief and loss, migration, relationship issues and self-esteem. I have worked as a counsellor for the Grief Centre in Birkenhead counselling those who are dealing with all forms of loss and grief including loss caused by migration.
