Eveliina Salonpaa – Silverdale

Psychotherapist

I offer both short-term counselling and longer-term psychotherapy for adults at different stages of life.

Our wellbeing is shaped by many different aspects of life -psychological, social, physical, and spiritual. All of these are welcome in therapy room. As a relational psychodynamic therapist, I provide a gentle, safe, and supportive space where you are welcome exactly as you are, with all that you carry. With support, even difficult or overwhelming experiences can become a source of growth, meaning, and new direction in life. My role is not to give you quick fixes, but to walk alongside you as you navigate both the challenges and joys of life.

My aim is to build a therapeutic relationship where you can reflect on your past and present experiences, make sense of them, and come to know yourself more fully. I wish to help my clients embrace who they truly are and live in a way that feels authentic to them.

Self-awareness is often the key to change and healing. Therapy can help you discover life-enhancing coping strategies, new perspectives, and greater resilience. Through gentle and thoughtful inquiry into you feelings, thoughts, behaviours, and bodily experiences we can uncover patterns that may be holding you back. Curiosity about what happens in both mind and body during our sessions can make painful emotions and traumatic memories feel more accessible, understandable, and easier to carry. I often draw on mindfulness and body awareness as part of this process. Learning to listen to and trust the wisdom of your body can open up powerful opportunities for healing.

I have experience working with adults and young people facing anxiety, depression, ADHD, autism, OCD, grief, trauma, as well as identity and relationship changes and challenges. I also worked with clients experiencing medically hard to explain somatic symptoms.

Alongside my professional training and clinical experience, my work is also shaped by my personal journey. Having immigrated from Finland and navigated the challenges of leaving an unhealthy religious group, I understand how life transitions can profoundly impact identity, wellbeing, and belonging.

Together, we can make sense of your experiences, nurture your strengths, and create space for new possibilities in your life.
