Fiona Mackinnon – Remuera

I work with people navigating change, managing stress, or wanting support with things like anxiety, burnout, grief, low mood, or substance use. I also provide supervision, coaching, and education support for those working in health, education ,social services, and community roles.

My background spans over 25 years in roles across mental health, addiction, disability, youth work, housing and homelessness, aged care, and adult education. I’ve worked alongside people in residential, community, and education settings, supporting a wide range of needs — including complex and  high-support needs.

As a lived experience practitioner, I understand the challenges of navigating systems that don’t always fit. I have experience working with neurodiversity including ADHD, Autism, and FASD,  I value diversity in all its forms and differing ways of thinking and being. I offer a space where your experiences are respected — not pathologised.

My approach is grounded, relational, and practical. I use tools from CBT, DBT skills, motivational interviewing, and solution-focused practice. You’re the driver of the change — I’m here to support the process in a way that fits and resonates with you. When needed, I can also help connect you with community supports and resources that may be useful in your situation.
