Counselling Services

Sometimes it’s difficult to struggle through the piles of unresolved stuff – or to re-gain a sense of why we entered into relationships in the first place. Things can be cloudy and we can get lost. Heartbreak can follow and sometimes the heartbreak involves children too. Adding a non-judgmental facilitator to the discussion; someone who can listen out and be on the side of your relationship is invaluable.

With my help you can

  • Be heard and understood
  • Hear and understand
  • Learn more positive ways of dealing with conflict
  • Communicate more productively
  • Gain some understanding of your relationship dynamics and cycles and how to change them
  • Re-connect and grow affection again
  • Grow intimacy
  • Deal with deep seated issues and disappointments
  • Deal with family interference
  • Re-build trust

Relationship counselling is my favorite time of the day! There is so much hope in it. Give me a call.

Counselling Approach

Having trained primarily in Narrative Therapy, I have developed an eclectic mix of modalities and strategies over the years including CBT, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Gottman and Mindfulness.

My extensive work for the Family Court and Mediation services has given me the gift of pragmatism alongside my natural ability to build rapport.

I believe people are the experts in their own lives and at times need support and strategies to find their way through. There is always a way through.

About Me

Coming to New Zealand from Zimbabwe in 2000 (where I owned several businesses), I took the opportunity to re-invent myself. Soon after entering my professional counsellor training I knew I would love this work.

In 2005, I took a position with two community agencies whilst also assisting part time with Teaching the Diploma of Counselling at UCOL.

In 2009 I entered Private Practice and gained accreditation with the Family Court, Primary Health Organisation and EAP Services. I was additionally appointed in 2017 to provide pre-mediation counselling for Family Dispute Resolution (Ministry of Justice). This aligned with my goals of focusing almost solely on Relationship work. It is the work I love and I gain joy in helping relationships thrive

Supervision Services

Helping others takes resilience. If you are in the helping profession – be it as a volunteer or a professional it is vital to have professional support.

I believe that our strongest ally in working with people is self reflection; being aware of our own core values and beliefs, our own experiences and biases, our own hurts and triggers and our own current state of mind and stress levels. Building a relationship with a supervisor is one of the wisest decisions we can make in our professional career.

I offer a non- judgmental and reflective space where I encourage you to share your stories, your struggles, your concerns, your dreams and your triumphs.

I am your eyes – when daily life clouds professional and personal clarity.
