Psychologist at Gold Tree Therapy
Kia ora, I’m Goldie Hamilton, a Registered Psychologist providing online therapy for adults living with anxiety and Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD).
I use evidence-based approaches to help reduce patterns of overthinking, avoidance, and compulsive rituals. These include Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which helps reduce compulsions, and Inference-Based CBT (I-CBT), which addresses obsessive worries and doubts. I also integrate other approaches depending on your needs, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Psychodynamic Therapy, and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
I also support people navigating depression, low self-esteem, relationship challenges, life transitions, and a range of other experiences.
My work is collaborative and tailored, with an emphasis on both practical tools and deeper understanding to support meaningful, lasting change. I aim to create a safe and supportive space where you can better understand your experiences and feel more empowered and in control of your life.
If you’re unsure whether your experiences relate to anxiety or OCD, I can help with assessment and understanding what may be going on. You’re also welcome to read more here: www.goldtreetherapy.co.nz/ocd-pure-o
My practice is informed by ongoing attention to cultural awareness, shaped by living in England, Israel, South Africa, France, and in Aotearoa New Zealand since 2007. I work respectfully and responsively with people from diverse cultural backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.
Sessions are provided online (via video or phone call). The fee per 50-minute session is $210.

Therapy provides a safe and supportive space to explore mental health challenges, understand underlying issues, and work towards healing and resilience.
Therapy can help if you're feeling overwhelmed, withdrawn, relying on unhealthy coping strategies, or simply seeking positive change. If challenges are impacting your wellbeing or daily life - or if you just want to grow and thrive - therapy may be beneficial.
If you're unsure whether therapy is right for you, feel free to reach out - I'd be happy to explore how I can support you.
Whether you're interested in my therapy, supervision, or coaching services, finding the right fit is important. The best way to know if I’m the right person to support you is to explore my website (www.goldtreetherapy.co.nz) and consider whether my experience and approach align with what you’re looking for.
As I offer online services, I am able to support clients residing anywhere in Aotearoa New Zealand.
You're welcome to email me any questions ([email protected]) or to book a free no-obligation brief phone call to see if we may be a good match.
The frequency and number of sessions depend on your goals, availability, budget, and whether you're seeking short-term or long-term support.
Many clients experience positive changes within six sessions. It's also common to continue for 20 sessions or more to support deeper exploration, growth, and lasting change.
Sessions are 50 minutes long and cost $210 (GST included).
For those who are eligible for funded therapy sessions through WINZ or StudyLink, the required paperwork can be provided to support your application.

I welcome self-referrals and clinician referrals.
Self-referral for therapy, supervision, or coaching:
Simply email [email protected] to arrange a free, confidential 15-minute phone call with no obligation. Mention the service you are interested in (therapy, supervision, or coaching), and provide your full name, email address, and phone number. For therapy, if we decide to move forward, I’ll then send you a link to my secure client system to complete the therapy self-referral form.
Clinician referral for therapy:
Clinicians can email me to request that I contact their client or patient about therapy. A secure clinician referral form can also be provided on request. You may also request a brief, confidential phone call before or after making a referral, or let me know if there's any other way I can assist.
Please ensure the client has given consent to be contacted, and confirm this in your email. Include the client's contact details, and clarify that this is a clinician referral. Also, provide your full name, role, organisation, email address, and phone number.
Therapy is provided online only, via video call or over the phone.
In our first appointment, we will typically explore your background and experiences before discussing your therapy goals and preferences. This process may extend beyond the initial session to ensure a thoughtful approach to your needs.
We will also reflect on whether we are the right fit for working together. Finding a therapist who feels right for you is important, and if at any point you prefer to work with someone else, I can provide information on other therapists upon request.
