I am a naturally caring, hopeful and respectful person, and these qualities form the foundation of my practice and the work we do together.
Respectful conversations where we work together to understand what’s troubling you and to discover new ways of moving forward towards clarity, self-empowerment and change.
I encourage a reflective and collaborative partnership between clients and myself, where the work is primarily to bring clarity into areas of confusion, darkness or doubt, so that we may best uncover what is needed to address your specific concerns as they arise. Every person brings their own story, and within these stories are the keys to understanding and change.
I take an integrated approach to therapy and consider mind, body and spirit to be inseparable when considering healing. I support clients by working in a technically eclectic way, drawing on the knowledge, tools and insights of several theories and traditions to offer an approach that honours the uniqueness of each person.
Integral psychology, Narrative Therapy, NVC, Somatic psychotherapy and meditation are the mainstays of my therapeutic approach.
My personal style is relaxed, intuitive and practical, drawing on metaphor, personal meaning, creativity, humour, curiosity and sensitivity, with respect for everyone’s rangatiratanga (nobility and autonomy).
Born in England, I moved here in 2004 and since that time I have transitioned from working in the creative industry to a career in the helping professions. I have worked as a counsellor in the following organisations; Home and Family Counselling, Family Works Northern, and ManAlive. I now work full-time in my private practice, located amongst the beautiful surroundings of Titirangi.
