I am a qualified counsellor, registered with DAPAANZ. I have a passion for working alongside those affected by addiction and other mental disorders.
I have 7 years of experience working in the addiction and mental health field. This experience has given me a broad range of skills. I work with people suffering from addiction, depression and anxiety, grief and loss and I support personal growth. I see addiction/compulsive behaviour primarily as a maladaptive coping mechanism to trauma.
I practice from an eclectic and holistic perspective. I draw on modalities that best suit my clients’ needs. I primarily use person-centred therapy supported by skills in cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), motivational interviewing (MI), dialectical behavioural therapy (DBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy. I also draw on somatic theory, mindfulness and meditation and sensory modulation.
I am accepting of diversity and have worked with people of different cultural backgrounds and people in varying stages of life. I will listen without judgement.
I will support you to reach your goals around compulsive behaviours – whatever they may be.
I can support you to:
I look forward to working with you.
