Jessie Hackford

Psychologist

I am a Registered Psychologist with over 10 years’ experience working across private practice, rehabilitation, hospitals, and community settings in New Zealand and Australia. I work with adults who are dealing with trauma, including PTSD and complex PTSD, as well as anxiety, depression, chronic stress, and difficulties following injury or major life changes.

People often come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure how to move forward. My approach is calm, collaborative, and non-judgmental. I aim to create a space where you can make sense of what you’ve been through, understand how it is affecting you now, and begin to develop practical ways of coping and moving forward.

I use evidence-based approaches including EMDR, CBT, ACT, DBT, and compassion-focused therapy, and tailor therapy to what is most helpful for you. I also have extensive experience working within ACC Sensitive Claims and rehabilitation settings, supporting recovery from both psychological trauma and injury.
