Jody Burrell

Arts Therapist

Kia ora! I’m Jody.

Together, we can explore how you got to where you are, and what may be blocking or interfering with you getting to where you’d like to be.

Our work can mould to fit you. For some, we may use talk therapy. For others, we may use sensory or somatic tools. Or perhaps we will make art within the session to seek new understanding.

One of the most important things in therapy can be finding someone who you feel you can trust. I’m always happy to have a chat with you to see if this feels like the right fit, or to answer any questions.

Background and Experience

I have most recently worked as an Arts Therapist/Counsellor and a Wellbeing Advisor within a tertiary health centre. Before therapy, I have worked in mental health education,  mental health advocacy and group facilitation. This combines to 9 years of working with individuals, groups, workplaces and communities to understand, seek and provide psychological support.
