Therapy Services

I offer both long and short-term psychotherapy. I am trained in Psychodynamic Psychotherapy and have been practicing as an individual and group psychotherapist since 2010. This type of psychotherapy assists a person to work through underlying issues and emotional difficulties.

I have worked in a specialist addiction service for many years where a more direct and problem solving approach is helpful, especially in the early stages of recovery. As a psychotherapist I can help people in recovery explore and work through any underlying issues and trauma that have contributed to addictive behaviour. I am happy to work with people who follow a 12 step approach as well as those using other approaches.

My clients have told me that our work has helped them feel less anxious or depressed, more resilient and able to cope with daily life and challenges. They typically experience improved relationships and/or more healthy boundaries in relationships, greater confidence, greater self-awareness and an increased sense of happiness, connectedness and meaning.

Therapy Approach

My approach is to respond to the individual needs of each client, using my training and experience to provide what will be most helpful for their unique circumstances. I work in a collaborative and relational way with all clients.

I am committed to helping anyone who brings a desire for change and growth and I firmly believe in people’s capacity to heal.

Background and Experience

I have worked as an individual therapist with adults and young adults who have consulted me for a wide range of problems including addiction, trauma, anxiety, depression and relationship difficulties.

I have many years of experience working in a specialist addiction service. This involved individual work with a wide age group (18-65), and a culturally, sexuality, and gender diverse group of clients. I was also a lead facilitator in group therapy, including working with families and couples.
