I work with a wide range of people experiencing anything from being stressed by everyday life through to experiencing significant mental illness/emotional well being challenges. I work with children & families as well as individual adults
I’m a born and bred Wellingtonian. While I have lived and travelled overseas I always come back to this place! When I’m not at work I can be found at the nearest cafe drinking a good long black….
I don’t pretend to have a magic wand or all the answers. You’re the expert on your life and your family, I know about psychology.
My approach is eclectic in nature (which really means that I use a lot of different ways to help). I use various forms of talking therapy for children and adults including ideas from Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Mindfulness.
I certainly don’t believe in a ‘one size fits all’ philosophy. I do believe that it is best to work together to achieve the best outcomes.
I have particular interest in the interplay between physical and mental health.
I have worked in this area for around 25 years. I have experience of working with both children and adults. I have worked with children/young people and families in mental, physical and developmental health settings. Similarly I have worked alongside adults with significant and more mild mental health/emotional well-being difficulties, in both physical and mental health settings. I have lived experience of the medical system.
