Kayla Aisher

Counselling Psychologist

Available to see adults and children in West Auckland and on the Hibiscus Coast. Please enquire for current availability and locations.

As a Counselling Psychologist registered with the New Zealand Psychologists Board and a member of the New Zealand Psychological Society, I support both adults and children to navigate challenges and improve their mental health and wellbeing.

I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, trauma, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, emotional regulation, and a range of other mental health concerns. My approach is warm, collaborative, and compassionate, with therapy tailored to the needs, age, and goals of each client.

When working with adults, I believe you are the expert in your own life. My role is to help you better understand your experiences, build on your strengths, and develop practical strategies that support meaningful change.

I also enjoy working with children and their families and have experience supporting children both individually and in group settings. I aim to make sessions welcoming and engaging, helping children understand their feelings and develop practical coping skills in ways that are appropriate for their age and stage of development. Where appropriate, I involve parents and caregivers so they can understand and support the skills their child is learning.

I understand that reaching out for support, whether for yourself or your child, can feel daunting. My aim is to provide a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard, understood, and supported.

I draw on evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), adapting these approaches to suit each individual. I am committed to providing culturally safe and respectful care, recognising and valuing each client’s unique cultural identity, beliefs, values, and lived experiences.

Whether you are seeking support for yourself or are concerned about your child, my goal is to help build understanding, resilience, confidence, and practical skills that can support wellbeing in everyday life.

I currently have availability for appointments in Henderson on Wednesdays during the day, with additional availability on the Hibiscus Coast. Please get in touch to enquire about current locations, appointment times, or whether I may be a good fit for you or your child.
