Kia ora, I’m Kendra.

I believe everyone has a story worth hearing, and sometimes we just need a space where we can be ourselves, without judgement or pressure to have everything figured out. Life can be messy, complicated and overwhelming at times. You might know something isn’t feeling right but struggle to put it into words, or you might be so caught up in everything happening around you that you haven’t had the chance to stop and make sense of your own feelings.

My approach to counselling is relaxed, honest and led by you. I believe you are the expert in your own life, your experiences and your feelings. I’m not here to tell you how to live or who you should be. I’m here to walk alongside you, help you untangle what’s going on, recognise your strengths and work out what feels right for you. There’s room for the hard conversations, a bit of humour, and gentle challenges when you need them. You don’t have to pretend everything is okay when it isn’t.

I work with people of all ages and support those navigating neurodiversity, trauma, identity, behavioural challenges, anxiety, depression, self-esteem, relationships, addictions and the general ups and downs of life.

My practice is grounded in connection, respect and manaakitanga. I draw on a range of approaches, including person-centred, strengths-based, trauma-informed and solution-focused counselling, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), narrative therapy and mindfulness. I aim to create a space that feels comfortable, genuine and shaped around what you need, rather than expecting you to fit into a particular way of doing things.
