ANNOUNCEMENT

Kristal is a highly qualified mental health professional working in beautiful Whangaparāoa on Auckland’s North Shore. She has an extensive background in mental health settings, and is committed to providing individualised counselling to suit your needs. Find out more about me on my website.

Counselling is based upon drawing inner wisdom from within; working with you to make decisions, listen to your story, and walk beside you. The most important part of therapy is feeling like there is a fit between you and the therapist. You should feel that you can open up and talk about anything you need to.

Need help with?

  • Separation and/or relationship difficulties
  • Parenting support
  • Blended family dynamics
  • Loss and grief
  • Illness
  • Depression and/or anxiety
  • Sexual abuse and sexual assault
  • Processing trauma
  • Work-related stress
  • Anger
  • Adjustment difficulties
  • Rainbow competent counselling

If you are unsure about your needs, please don’t hesitate to call.

New Mum in need? I specialise in helping new Mum’s in need, or those trying to conceive and dealing with infertility.

Wanting LGBTTIAQ+competent counselling? I provide gender identity and sexual orientation affirming counselling support. I have a strong knowledge base and competency in supporting Rainbow, Takatāpui and LGBTTIAQ+ identifying people. I engage with a specifically Rainbow competent supervisor and have connections to resources or services that you may need.

How will I work with you?

I use a broad range of techniques which are carefully selected to fit your specific needs. I work with a solution-focused and strengths-based approach. These may include the integrated use of DBT (Dialectical Behavioural Therapy) and CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) techniques and ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), narrative therapy, motivational interviewing and trauma informed approaches. My approach is culturally aware, and I will endeavour to meet your needs in the counselling process.

These include crisis and acute care, community, maternal mental health, psycho-geriatric, corrections, school (youth), primary health and forensics, private practice and television/media (well-being).
