Psychotherapist and Counsellor

What is bringing you to Psychotherapy or Counselling?

Are you feeling stuck, wishing you and your life were different in some way?
Do you wish your relationships with the people that matter to you felt closer?
Do you worry that you’re not living your best life?
Do you think there’s something wrong with you?

Psychotherapy is a way to engage with all of these questions and more as you begin a journey of coming into relationship with you. This process can enable you to develop the capacities you need to take hold of the reins of your life and identify what is meaningful to you and how to prioritise and choose your path. It can be challenging, connecting, transforming and enlivening.

How can I help you?

As an experienced Psychotherapist and Counsellor who has worked with a wide variety of clients with a range of presenting issues, clients tell me I have helped them to:

  • feel buried feelings
  • connect with, believe in and feel proud of themselves
  • establish boundaries
  • develop more intimate loving relationships
  • identify what gives their life meaning, purpose and value
  • choose the paths that most align with their sense of self

In addition to the various trainings and qualifications I have completed over the course of my professional life (maths teacher, lawyer, legal academic, counsellor and psychotherapist), I have also engaged in psychotherapy as a client. From all of this experience, I have learned that effective psychotherapy is really about the relationship between client and psychotherapist. Providing you with support, guidance and care is very important, as is being willing to accompany you into the parts of your journey that have been too painful or confronting.

What’s next?

If what you’ve read so far connects and you feel ready to begin this journey with me, I welcome your call. When we meet for the first time, this will be an opportunity for you to tell me what you’re hoping to address or work through and for me to gather some background information. We will have a conversation at the end of the first appointment about whether we both feel there is a fit and I will let you know if I think I can help you. If it is yes from us both, then we will continue working together.
