I am passionate about empowering individuals to make meaningful changes in their lives and believe therapy is a great tool for this. We can all feel overwhelmed by difficult emotions, confused in our thinking and disconnected from the people and things that matter and therapy helps to reconnect us to aspects of life that are meaningful to us as individuals and create a clearer picture moving forward.
I create a therapeutic process guided by your hopes for change, in partnership with my knowledge and experience. My goal is to help you/your family take steps towards connecting with your values and move towards a more meaningful and fulfilling life.
Therapy is not always easy, and can be hard work confronting at times. However, if you are willing to fully engage with the process, you are likely to see benefits and positive change as a result.
I adopt therapy practice from a number of different modes, including: Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Family Systems Therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing (EMDR) and information gleaned from human physiology and neuro-psychology.
I have been a registered psychologist for over 7 years and have worked within the primary health care setting in a mixture of clinical settings as well as within schools. I have experience in conducting mental health assessments and working with individuals and families/parents dealing with a wide range of life problems.
