Counselling/Therapy Services

I provide a caring, compassionate, safe and accepting space where hopefully rather quickly you can feel at ease and able to explore what you are needing support with. Really hearing you as well as seeking understanding and insight for the suffering you are experiencing is what I am passionate about. I honor the richness and diversity of who you are and I desire to provide a therapeutic space where you can truly be yourself.

Sometimes we know straight away (even from a photo or a sense of someone through their words) as to whether they might be the right therapist. Other times it may be helpful to meet to ascertain whether this is the person you’d like to work with. Please be in touch to arrange an initial session to give you the opportunity to meet me and to discuss your situation and needs, so we can work out together what may best suit you.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

Having a psychodynamic approach in my therapy is important to me as I believe it helps us in understanding ourselves and how we are in relationship, bringing insight into what is happening for you right now. Experiencing this insight with an empathic therapist helps alleviate your current stress and bring life to who you are right now and to who you want to become.

I tailor the therapy to the needs of the client and incorporate other therapeutic approaches depending on what you are needing, and what is best for your overall well-being.

Background and Experience

Practicing psychotherapy as well as having been a nurse for over 20 years has equipped me with a strong understanding of the quandary of challenges that we face as a human race. I have extensive experience working with a diverse range of individuals and families in hospitals, NGOs, community settings, as well as in private practice.

I feel in awe of our individual and collective vulnerability and strength as we negotiate the complexities of our existence. I have a deep respect for all of the stages of life and our tenacity to survive and hopefully thrive even despite how difficult life can sometimes be.
