Michèle Lacroix

Humanistic Psychotherapy and Counselling

I have been working in ‘mental health’ in Europe and NZ for many years, holding different roles and supporting people from all walks of life. As counsellor I provide a safe space for you to explore past and present experiences related to trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship issues, migration related distress – topics I came to understand deeply through my own life experience, studies and training.

My approach is ‘person centered’ and eclectic, which means that my focus is on providing the space for you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself, while using different ‘modalities’ to support the counselling process, depending on what comes up in our meeting. It includes ‘tools’ originally developed in humanistic psychotherapy as well as solution focused therapy and it might include breathing & mindfulness techniques. But mainly it’s about allowing your thoughts and feelings to be there. I listen. I give you my full attention, interested and curious, supporting you to work through any topics you seek to explore and resolve.

I work in private practice. As comfortable with couples as with individuals.

In person, online or on the phone.

In English, Spanish and German.

Short or long-term.
