Hi, I’m Michelle, a psychotherapist based in Albany, North Shore, Auckland.
I offer psychotherapy to individuals seeking help with their thoughts, feelings or relationships. My work is grounded in a warm therapeutic relationship that allows you to explore your life struggles openly. I am compassionate, genuinely curious about you, and committed to helping you make meaningful changes in your life.
I have experience with underlying emotional issues such as anger, despair, depression, anxiety, fear, long-standing conflictual relationship patterns, and complex trauma. Many of these patterns commonly occur with addiction, an area I have received specialist training in.
I work collaboratively, drawing on my professional training in psychodynamic and relational therapy, alongside mindfulness-based CBT. In simple terms, I pay attention not only to what is happening in your life now, but also to how past experiences shape your emotions, relationships, and identity.
I have a particular interest in supporting adults in intimate relationships that may be eroding their confidence or sense of self. I work gently to help clients understand subtle, confusing and recurring relational patterns that can impact their emotional wellbeing.
My interest in underlying relational dynamics also extends to how high-pressure corporate work environments can impact a person’s sense of worth and belonging.
