Inner Strength Counselling

Whether you know what the problem is, or just have a sense that something is not right or enough in your life – I am here to help. I’m your ally in overcoming blockages to your vitality, to moving forward toward experiencing a renewed sense of adventure.

Firstly, well done for your courage! Reaching out for support and finding the right fit can be a daunting process. If you’re here, you have likely tried different things without success and are open to trying something new.

Everyone deserves to reach their full potential. The good news is that your brain has the ability to rewire itself! It is possible for you to learn new ways of thinking along with effective strategies to manage your difficulties. I help you exchange responses that aren’t working – or even harmful – for workable strategies to living a vital life, aligned with your goals and values.

Transformative Counselling

Life can be baffling and confusing. No one moves through life without experiencing loss, trauma, or grief. Yet we aren’t taught how to process the pain. We are told to move on or “just get over it” and fast. But persistent unattended psychological problems are like black holes in the psyche, they steal our vitality and deplete our energy. You don’t need to do this on your own!

I provide an environment of safety and trust for increased personal awareness and growth. The space I offer is welcoming, open, calm, warm, kind, friendly, empathic, encouraging, affirming, validating, accepting, compassionate, optimistic, hopeful, creative, sensitive, curious, responsive, non-blaming, non-judgmental; sometimes fun and other times perhaps challenging. I am here for you every step of the way, and everything we discuss is entirely confidential.

I help you find new perspectives on yourself and others, and new ways of dealing with difficulty.

I have learned, through hard times of my own, the importance of looking after my own mental health as a daily practice. You will leave every session with ideas for effective practices and/or plan for behaviour change that could radically change your quality of life.

Holistic, integrative, trauma informed, embodied counselling

I am trained in a range of evidence-based therapies (visit my website for more details), which I tailor to your individual needs and values. I integrate modern psychotherapy ideas with proven practices from ancient wisdom traditions (eg shamanism, yoga, and martial arts) to bring about better health, wellbeing, and positive transformation in your inner and outer worlds.

Embodiment-mindfulness skills training and awareness of the body-mind connection are key for change to come sooner and with less effort.

I provide both short- and long-term therapy. In short term work (aka brief therapy – one to four sessions) we will focus on a specific goal or issue that you have. Longer term work allows to explore deeper layers of your full potential – your authentic self, in a meaningful, rich life on all your desired levels.

I have worked with people with various difficulties, including:

Anxiety, panic attacks, depression, various addictions, (C)PTSD, OCD, ADHD, stress, self-worth, social confidence, eating disorders & body image issues, sexual abuse, major life decisions, issues of abandonment, betrayal, existential & spiritual dilemmas, and relationship difficulties

I coach and mentor corporate clients, which includes managing stress, improving communication within the workplace, work life balance, and performance enhancement.

Couples therapy and sexuality issues

Relationships can be complicated, as each personality is unique and there are always two sides to every story and areas of pain and vulnerability inevitably come into play. Sometimes trying to work it out on your own seems impossible and an unbiased third party can be beneficial. I offer a non-judgmental listening ear and a safe space, to explore issues and challenges.

I coach couples in the skills of communication, deep connection, empathy, and trust; how to manage boundaries, disagreements and conflicts; co-dependency, affairs, polyamory (open relating), and break-ups.

I also support both women and men in overcoming sexuality related challenges.
