Counselling/Therapy Services

As a qualified psychotherapist I can help you become more mindful of and more in charge of troubling thoughts, emotions, behaviours and relationships. Our busy lives can keep us locked in old, limiting cycles both within ourselves and with others. These cycles may no longer support our well-being and begin to limit our potential. My therapeutic approach will help you identify and escape the pain these cycles cause, while helping you to develop new and healthier ways of being.

I can help you delve deeper into how these patterns began. By working together we can create deep, sustained change in your self-awareness and your ability to relate in a healthy way with important people in your life. This work will help you become more mindful and in charge of the choices you make enabling you to become stronger and build more satisfying relationships. Being in charge in this way will enhance an overall sense of inner peace and well-being.

Peace, it does not mean to be in a place where no noise, trouble or hardship exists. It means to be in the midst of it all and still calm in your heart.

Counselling/Therapy Approach

I am trained in the Psychosynthesis approach. It is a relational, holistic way of working which looks at the entire individual (mind, body, feelings, spirituality and sexuality) in the context of their life’s journey. I can meet you where you are and help you identify your needs on this broad spectrum. I provide a safe environment and a supportive relationship within which your particular difficulties can be met and addressed. My approach can help you build the self-awareness, self-confidence skills and motivation you need to grow, feel more in charge of and at peace with your individual life circumstances.

Background and Experience

I have 26 years’ experience facilitating learning and growth in a wide variety of professions: teacher, trainer/life coach, and counsellor. I have a long standing passion for helping people to understand and overcome their difficulties in order to reach their full potential of emotional, physical, creative and spiritual wellbeing.

I have run Art Therapy groups at the Auckland Woman’s Centre. I have created and helped people implement overall health and well-being programmes. I have worked with parents and their gifted and/or learning disabled children, and as a face-to-face counsellor at Lifeline

I currently run a private practice where I do brief intervention and long-term relational work.
