Couples Counselling and Intimacy Issues

Offerings

*Please note, I am currently not taking on new clients in 2024.

I help couples who are struggling with intimacy issues, have lost the spark, grown apart or can’t stop fighting, to get their relationship back on track, even if they’ve tried everything, have fallen out of love and are on the brink of breaking up.

I’m passionate about guiding couples through personal growth into deeper spaces of intimacy, both with themselves and with each other.

I work with people who are ready to thrive and want to grow through and enhance their experiences of sex, intimacy, pleasure and relationship. If this sounds like you, send me a message about what you’re looking for and let’s make a time to chat.

I bring a naturally open-minded curiosity to understanding and working with you. During our sessions together I aim to create a safe space to compassionately confront what is not working for you and find new ways of being that serve the kind of life you really want to live. Through modern neuroscience, attachment theory, and the developmental model of relationships, we will develop a deeper understanding of what’s keeping you stuck and how to move forward. Through experiential learning in the session along with practical solutions and tools you can use immediately you will deepen intimacy, develop communication and mature ways of relating, improve your sense of connection, and enhance sex and pleasure.

Approach

I help couples to find their way through intimacy and relationship issues. This can be anything from one or both of you losing desire for the other, falling out of love, feeling like roommates, feeling resentful, or growing apart. Sessions are 90 minutes and cost $295.

Through working with me you will discover your unconscious drivers, and develop skills to take back control and be in charge of your life, moving in the direction of your dreams. I draw on a broad range of techniques to help you develop emotional regulation skills to engage meaningfully in your life and relationships. I am guided by mindfulness-based approaches, embodiment principles, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy, Attachment Theory, Neuroscience and the Developmental Model of Relationships.

Background

I studied psychology at university for six years, obtained a Masters degree and completed 1500 hours of closely supervised practice to register as a Clinical Psychologist in 2015. Since then, I’ve maintained my professional registration with ongoing professional development and supervision.

I grew up in Northland, Aotearoa New Zealand, with a love of nature, adventure and the outdoors, along with a fond interest in people and their varied experiences. My grandma was a yoga teacher and I followed in her footsteps, training as a yoga and meditation teacher in 2016.

I’ve worked in child, adolescent and adult mental health, covering a broad scope from individual talk therapy to running mental health groups, conducting neuropsychological assessment and diagnosis, writing youth court reports, facilitating parenting programs, and offering professional supervision and delivering mindfulness and other training to colleagues.

I’ve also travelled the globe working in various retreat centres and online, integrating eastern wisdom and embodiment into teaching yoga and meditation, supporting people in their psycho-spiritual exploration of themselves, their existence, and their connection to everyone and everything else.
