Welcome, Nau mai, haere mai.
Currently accepting new ACC Sensitive Claims clients.
I have limited availability in Rosedale and encourage you to get in touch to secure an appointment.
I believe there is strength in vulnerability, and by seeking support you are tapping into that inner strength. It is the first step on the road to change and healing. When you show up for yourself, or your loved one, you initiate momentum toward wellness and a more fulfilled life.
There are many reasons why people seek support in the form of therapy and counselling. Perhaps you have suffered a grievance or trauma, are experiencing challenges in key relationships, or feel your mental wellbeing needs a little (or a lot) of assistance to get back on track. Whatever your reason for seeking support, please know I will show up with genuine compassion and a commitment to meeting your needs effectively. I will always provide a safe, confidential space and offer practical tools and strategies you can use beyond our sessions.
I have worked with young people from an early age. I am a fully registered, primary‑trained teacher and have taught across the curriculum in a range of socio‑economic communities.
Alongside raising my young family, I completed my counselling education and now work part‑time as a counsellor in a secondary school, supporting vulnerable young people. I have also completed Masters research exploring parenting during the COVID‑19 pandemic, and hold deep respect for the crucial role of parents and caregivers.
I support individuals experiencing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, body image concerns, phobias, bullying, self‑worth challenges, identity exploration, lack of motivation or direction, and complex family dynamics. I also have experience in grief and loss work, offering compassionate guidance through these deeply challenging times.
If you have experienced sexual harm at any point in your life and are unsure whether you may be eligible for ACC support, I can guide you through the Sensitive Claims process with care and clarity. This includes supporting you through Early Supports, preparing the cover application, and providing ongoing trauma‑informed therapy once cover is accepted. You do not need a GP referral to begin this process, and we will move at a pace that feels safe for you.
My approach is client‑centred, meaning I tailor therapy to your unique needs and experiences. I ground my work in research‑based theory and specialise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and the trauma‑informed Trust‑Based Relational Intervention (TBRI). I am committed to the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and honour the cultural background and lived experiences of each person I work with.
Through psychoeducation and carefully formulated care plans, I support individuals experiencing intrusive thoughts, overwhelming emotions, and distressing behavioural patterns. My work often includes values‑based approaches to rumination, emotion regulation, and distress tolerance.
I engage in ongoing professional development and regular supervision to ensure safe, ethical, and effective practice.
I am deeply invested in supporting you to make meaningful shifts toward becoming the most authentic and fulfilled version of yourself. If your workplace provides EAP support, please book through my Clearhead profile. If you are eligible for ACC funding through the Sensitive Claims, or would like information about this pathway, please get in touch.
I look forward to journeying alongside you.
Ngā mihi nui,
Nicole
