Counselling Services

When unexpected or unwanted changes happen in our life, we often feel lost or out of control. Counselling is a safe and non-judgmental place. Together we can explore presenting challenges in a non-threatening way, without the fear of burdening others.

Common themes presented are: depression, anxiety, loss/grief, divorce, menopause, stress, parenting, all of which can have an impact on our relationships.

  • When I finally came across “The Developmental Model” for working with couples, I got excited. It combines my interest in attachment with developmental stages but applying it to adults and their relationships. The model gives a clear focus for Couples Therapy and I enjoy working with couples even more now!
  • I am offering services for fostered or adopted children or young adults, called LIFE STORY WORK. If this is what you are looking for, please follow my link for more information www.lifestorywork.weebly.com

Counselling Approach

I believe in an holistic approach that includes our emotional, physical and spiritual well-being. I work person-centred and use techniques from Narrative Therapy, but mostly I like to explore our therapeutic relationship in the “HERE and NOW” using the interpersonal process in therapy. I like to view us as fellow travellers who take this journey of exploration together. I also offer working in the Sand tray as part of creative therapy.

The highlights of my work as a counsellor are found in those moments being with my clients, the moment their hearts are open and their eyes can see and they begin to understand the lessons that life itself has taught them – and I am privileged to be a part of these moments.
