Olivia Skye (She/Her)

Strengths-based Counselling for Adolescents and Adults

Kia ora šŸ™‚

I’m Olivia (she/her), a qualified Counsellor, provisionally registered with NZAC, and based in Auckland.

I understand navigating the world from a place of perceived difference; how this can shrink and disconnect us from others, our life, but also ourselves.

This, in part, drives my passion for supporting clients in transforming self-limiting beliefs and reconnecting with their inner wisdom, so they can lead their own healing/growth and truly thrive.

Beyond Counselling, I’m a mother to a confident teenage girl, I identify as part of the Rainbow community, and come from a diverse, multicultural family (Māori, Chinese, Irish, Dutch). This background informs my cultural sensitivity and appreciation for the complexities of navigating dual/multiple cultural identities, values, and systems.

I’ve worked in high school and not-for-profit organisation settings with marginalised communities, and bring a strong client advocacy lens to my work.

While some of the above may sound a bit ā€˜woo-woo’ and abstract, my therapeutic style is not. I bring my authentic self to sessions to help us build a genuine and trusting relationship.

I’m playful, warm, honest, don’t take myself too seriously, and wholeheartedly believe humour has a beneficial role in therapy.

As a Pluralistic, Person-Centred Counsellor, I’m attentive to moving at your pace and adapting my approach to your unique context and needs, as signalled by you. I draw from a wide range of therapeutic methods and work within Trauma-informed, Neuro-Affirming, and body-inclusive Health at Every Size (HAES) frameworks.

My practice areas include:

  • Disordered eating and body image challenges
  • Neurodivergence (ADHD and Autism)
  • Takatāpui and Rainbow experiences
  • Identity and self-esteem
  • TraumaĀ Ā
  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Single parenting | Blending whānau | Family court navigation
  • Sex Work ( I have a counselling background with The Aotearoa New Zealand Sex Workers’ Collective | NZPC)

I offer a complimentary 30-minute online consultation for us to assess our compatibility and determine if I can best meet your needs.
