Counselling – the way I work

If you feel that you are ‘struggling’ or ‘surviving’, rather than ‘thriving’, counselling can help.

I will listen and will work with you to help you to understand the issues that are causing you problems today.  These can be things happening in your life today or the result of relationship issues and/or things that have happened in the past.

Understanding what is or has been negatively impacting your life can help you to identify what you need from counselling.  Some people would like a framework to strategically plan an improvement in areas of their life, some need to start unravelling the knot of their difficult past experiences, and for some people, just having a safe space to talk through what they are experiencing with a warm, empathetic, nonjudgmental listener can be a good start.

Together we can work towards a time when your answer to the question “how are you?” is “thriving, thanks!”.

About me:

I am a New Zealand Association of Counsellors registered counsellor, with a degree in Counselling.

I use my curiosity, life experience and studies in counselling, psychology, and psychotherapy in my counselling practice, and I can offer theories, tools and interventions from various modalities – including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, and Gestalt – as well as knowledge from cutting-edge neuro-science research.

See my website for more information about me and the way I work.

 New Clients

I offer a free 15 minute telephone consultation for new clients, before confirming a booking, so that we can discuss whether the way in which we can work together is right for your needs.
