Psychoanalysis, psychoanalytic psychotherapy and parent child psychotherapy involve the discovery and the insight into oneself,  and the understanding of one’s own internal world, including the uncounscious, affecting one’s own way of being and relating to others.

Here is a picture of a child establishing a private self that is not communicating, and at the same time wanting to communicate and to be found. It is a sophisticated game of hide-and-seek in which it is a joy to be hidden but disaster not to be found.
– D. W. Winnicott (1965)

Psychotherapy provides the opportunity to understand how one’s own difficulties have arisen, how to understand the present and how to proceed into the future in a more satisfying way. With understanding and awareness comes the freedom to create and choose a more fulfilling experience of life.
