I am a registered psychotherapist working in Tāmaki Makaurau with people 18+ who are experiencing a specific challenge, a feeling that they want more from their life, or a wish to understand themselves better.
Often, we find ourselves carrying our past experiences with us into our present lives. At times this impacts us in difficult ways, creating challenges in our relationships and even physical symptoms that cause pain or discomfort. Once we become more aware we are able to make conscious choices that feel authentic and purposeful to us. Therapy provides an opportunity to get to know yourself better, or to speak about experiences you may not have been able to express in the past. Together, we can explore your personal life history and patterns through a curious and non-judgemental approach and also work together to consider ways to move forward.
Beginning therapy is courageous, and it is important to choose a therapist that you truly feel comfortable with. After you reach out, we can arrange an initial session to help us establish what you’re hoping for from therapy and to help you to decide if you’d like us to work together.
I can support you through:
Anxiety, self-esteem, identity. Symptoms of ADHD. Depression, grief, chronic illnesses, past trauma, relationship issues. Or there may be something else that you’re needing support with that brings you to therapy. Being a human being is challenging, you don’t have go through this alone.
Experience
My clinical experience includes providing individual therapy at AUT’s Integrated Health Clinic, and providing support and therapy for people with chronic illnesses at Auckland Hospital’s Immunology and Allergy Clinic. Through this work I discovered the importance of working with the mind and the body in tandem.
My approach to therapy is holistic, and my practice is also shaped by my prior education in art and design. As a creative and artistic person, I see the therapy process as a creative collaboration.
